The Iron Knob town playground is soon to get an upgrade thanks to funds from the IKPA and Community Benefits.
At the moment the playground does not have the recommended ' soft-fall ' under the play equipment which can make for a bit of a hard landing.
The new playground will not only have the correct base but will also have new equipment for the kids to play on.
Having a playground next to the town camping facilities also helps to make the whole area very user friendly. It is hoped having such great facilities will entice more people to stay overnight in Iron Knob.
Work on the new playground should begin early this year.

Iron Knob progress association taking over the mine tours for OneSteel - project in process.
David Evans has been busy this month learning the ropes for the Iron Knob Mine Tours.
OneSteel has passed on this role to the Iron Knob Progress Association and Tourist Centre which helps to keep the dedicated band at the Centre busy.
Tours are available for Coach Tours, School groups and individuals alike. You can also take a tour of the town. For information on bookings HERE......
